Hello Wiz

I've had progress installing pydecnet, made another linux virtual machine to run it and act as the router. I just got the binary install and it seems to work fine.

Using the sample pydecnet.conf I've managed to get it to run and sees the other decnet machines on the lan so I suppose it must work fine with this Phase V installation.

I think I just need appropriate .conf file with needed details to connect to HECnet and it's ready to go.

I would like to press ahead with this, I will email you directly.

I am on the east coast, I'm in Newcastle.

Hi Michael,

It’s Wiz here. Tony got my address flipped around. I’m djm@wiz.net.au

I run area 35 from Melbourne and Tony’s machines are part of that.

Tim is also in Australia. He’s located in Perth.

I run Paul’s PyDECnet (as many of us do) and everything I have is Phase IV. This is what I recommend to everyone who wants to connect into HECnet.

I’ve only started playing with VMS/x86 so I don’t know exactly how this plays, but others on the list have said that it managed to play ok. As most of us would have Phase IV machines on our same networks I don’t know if that plays a part.

In any event if you are located on the East coast of Australia and you want to get connected into the network please hit me up.

Cheers, Wiz!!
